Early Years Learning Framework
Little Blessings Early Learning Centre is committed to creating a warm, supportive environment where children’s development is guided by the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Our approach centres on the concepts of Belonging, Being, and Becoming:
Belonging
• We foster a sense of connection and inclusion, where each child feels valued, respected, and part of our community.
• Strong, supportive relationships with families and educators help children build a sense of belonging and security.
Being:
• We celebrate the present moment, allowing children to explore, play, and engage with the world around them.
• Children are encouraged to develop a strong sense of identity and confidence, grounded in the here-and-now of their everyday experiences.
Becoming:
• We support children in developing their potential through a focus on learning, growth, and future possibilities.
• Children are empowered to develop skills, knowledge, and resilience that will help them thrive in both their current environment and beyond.
At Little Blessings, we create an environment where children’s individual needs and interests are respected, ensuring their unique learning journeys are nurtured and celebrated.
Reggio Emilia Approach
Our Kindergarten Program is designed to meet the educational needs of children in accordance with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF).
We provide a play-based, engaging curriculum that supports children in developing foundational skills in language, literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning, preparing them for a smooth transition to primary school. Our Kindergarten educators focus on creating a stimulating, child-centred environment where each child’s interests, strengths, and learning styles are respected.
By fostering a sense of belonging, curiosity, and independence, we encourage children to explore their world through hands-on experiences, critical thinking, and collaborative play. The program is underpinned by strong partnerships with families, ensuring a holistic approach that values each child’s background and cultural diversity, while helping them build the skills and confidence needed for lifelong learning.
At Little Blessings Early Learning Centre, we embrace the Reggio Emilia approach, fostering an environment where children are viewed as capable, curious, and active participants in their own learning. This approach places a strong emphasis on child-led exploration, creativity, and collaboration, with educators acting as facilitators to guide and inspire learning.
We believe in the power of the environment as the “third teacher,” carefully designing spaces that provoke inquiry, encourage problem-solving, and promote meaningful interactions. Children at Little Blessings are given opportunities to express themselves in a variety of ways—through art, language, movement, and play—empowering them to engage with the world around them and develop critical thinking skills.
By honouring each child’s voice and valuing their unique perspectives, we create a learning community that is dynamic, respectful, and deeply connected to the child’s individual experiences and interests.
